I don't know what to do to make it not happen, but what I've learned to do automatically is type in four asterisks with spaces between, then hit Home and backspace. Then I have three asterisks and no bullet! I suppose I wouldn't want to add up the time I've taken doing this in all the books I've scanned--but it's what I've worked out!

Hi guys, I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I have been putting 3 asterisks after a chapter heading. However, when I write three asterisks, separated each by a space, Microsoft word inserts a bullet before the firststar, and only writes two asterisks. I have to delete the bullet, and rewrite the third asterisk. Does anyone have an idea for writing 3 asterisks without having to encounter this problem all the time?
