Hi, everyone! I have instructions for both Word 2000 and XP. For Word 2000, go to the View menu, Alt-V. Press T to get to the toolbars menu. Arrow down to the clipboard, and uncheck it. I haven't used 2000 for a while, but I believe you can press Enter on it, and you'll be returned to your document with the clipboard off of the screen. You may have to do this a couple of times before Word gets the message. <Smile> For Word XP, Bring up the clipboard by pressing Alt-E, then B. Tab to the Options button, and press Enter to open the dialog box. Tab to Collect without showing Office clipboard," and press Enter. There isn't an OK button, so press Escape to exit. Take care! If the pane is open (Ctrl-C twice will also open it), you will find a small button at the bottom of the pane. It's called Options and clicking on it will present four options. The second one will collect your copyings but not show the clipboard pane. It is necessary to close and re-open Word to make this take effect. If you wanted to get rid of the clipboard entirely I'm afraid I can't help you. Charlie At 12:27 PM 9/17/2004 -0500, you wrote: I would also like to know how to get rid of that clipboard. I thought I had it turned off. Hadn't seen it in ages. And then it came up and got me this morning when I was working on a project. The only way I could get rid of it was close Word and open it again, but I know there's a way to clean it out without having to do that, or get rid of it, so it won't show up at all. I hope some Word guru has the answer for this one. mary
