You still appear to be missing Lissi's point. The book she borrowed from
the library did not match the copy Lissi downloaded. That is why she bought
the book from Amazon. The book from Amazon does match the copy she
downloaded for validation.

Try using the optimize option on kurzweil if you have it. It does it for
you in many ways. What scanning package and what version are you using? I
mostly validate rather than scan and when I need to feel humble I scan to
remind myself how tricky it can be and to be kind to scanning people while
validating.
