Finally made my first trip to McElroy Lake yesterday the 6th. Habitat appeared to be good for lots of birds. I am still a novice at birding so I can't attempt to tell you all the birds that were there. If nothing else it was absolutely breathtaking the numbers of birds. Lots of peeps, some ducks, blue-winged teal for sure, and even one gull (I think?) I took the whole family so we only stopped long enough for me to take a gaze through the nocs. It was beautiful and I was in awe, no doubt I'll be back. I'm surprised no one has said anything about it after the rains. It will probably only last a few more days without rain.
