Alison and I spent about 2 hours at McElroy Lake this afternoon. Weak as I am on all water birds I managed to ID 5 duck species - Mallard, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, and Northern Pintail. One little duck seemed to have a white face. Couldn't figure that one out. Lots of shorebirds, could ID only Killdeer and Lesser Yellowlegs on the spot with certainty. Photographed several to ID later. Do I get to count them as mine if I can't figure them out and Dave has to tell me what they are?
