I assume that Frank’s birds were the ones that were gently encouraging the
others not to roost in the invasive Bradford pear trees. Btw, our last few
local Martins were finally missing last evening.

Just spectacular. Easily 10,000 birds, and probably twice that or more;
hanging off the trees and utility lines next to the road and swarming
overhead. Surprisingly, no starlings.
