I was working in my garden to the song of the martins, not really conducive to
work but then what is. Anyway, I thought it to be a lot of clamor for just 3
pair of martins. I now have 10 martins, and I guess some could be on the nest.
I have gone from 3 pair to 4 males and 6 females. I have read that only females
set on the eggs, so I figure my male count is good. I can't tell that anyone is
feeding young nor that anyone is setting on eggs, but they are clearly
defending the place. I don't wish to bother them and haven't set and watched to
tell if there are young.
Can a male martin have more than one mate?
