This update is current as of November 3, 2003 at 11:30 AM EDT. The highlights of this update are: On 10-26 DARK-EYED JUNCOS and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS were noted at a feeder in Plano (Warren Co). In eastern Jefferson Co sparrows also included WHITE-CROWNED, LINCOLN'S, VESPER, CHIPPING, SWAMP, and FIELD. A SHORT-EARED OWL was also seen in the same location at this time. At Beargrass Creek Nature Preserve on the 27th, CHIPPING SPARROWS, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, and a WINTER WREN were observed. On Little River Bay in Lake Barkley on the 28th, an OSPREY , numerous TREE SWALLOWS, and 7 WHITE PELICANS were seen. Also on the 28th a BROWN CREEPER was noted in a backyard in Calloway Co. On the 29th, LECONTE'S and 1 HENSLOW'S SPARROW were seen in the Peabody WMA. A good number of ducks including GREEN-WINGED TEAL, NORTHERN SHOVELER, AMERICAN WIGEON, GADWALL, and WOOD DUCK were observed on Jonathon Creek on the 30th. Also seen there was 1 HORNED GREBE. A list for Minor Clark Fish Hatchery for the weekend includes: NORTHERN SHOVELER, RUDDY DUCK, OSPREY, BELTED KINGFISHER, AMERICAN COOT, SNOW GOOSE (both white and blue phase), GREATER YELLOWLEGS, DUNLIN, PECTORAL SANDPIPER, and PIED-BILLED GREBE. Other weekend sightings include a RUFFED GROUSE, and a BLUE-HEADED VIREO in the Yahoo Falls area ((Big South Fork). And a single HOODED WARBLER was noted in Boyd County on Monday morning the 3rd.
