Subject: [birdky] Re: KOS Fall 2020 Decision - **Please respond!**
Even if the virus were down, the way to make sure it doesn’t come back is to
remain vigilant. Kentucky has been fortunate so far for the most part, but that
doesn’t mean that we should start doing things the way we used to. It means
that what we have been doing has been working.

Good luck Jeff,
With schools to open regardless of our status, I’d have to agree with the
others, that I can’t imagine that things will be that much better. I’d love to
be wrong but I think our energies should be directed towards a virtual meeting
so that we are communicating one option to those who would give talks/record
presentations. We would also be able to add the costs of what it would take to
get someone here and host them and put that towards a stipend to get presenters.
If things were to change it wouldn’t be until the very last minute that one
would not be able to make any changes. We could add multiple walks across the
state if that were the case.
To reiterate again, I vote for a virtual meeting.

I tend to agree with Mary. While I won't be able to make the meeting anyway,
due to my upcoming heart surgery and anticipated recovery time, I don't think
Covid will be any better than now and probably much worse based upon current
trends throughout the US.
Everyone stay safe and well out there!

Good evening, KOS Board!
I want to hear all of your voices on this one.
I'd planned to wait a bit before asking us to weigh in on the decision to hold
an in-person meeting this fall at Kenlake SRP. This time it's different from
the Spring meeting, where there was a lot more unknowns than there are now.
I have heard from almost 10 people (some board members, some not) that they
won't come to the meeting even if we held it in person. A few have said they
would go to Kenlake for the weekend even if we don't have the in-person meeting.
Therefore, I am asking now - should we wait to see what happens with COVID
between now and, say, mid-August? Or should we cancel now?
Thank you all for sharing your opinion on the matter. We need a quorum on this.
