Scott.... (and anyone else interested)... There is another site, which I have been working on for EVAC. It is north of US60, about the same as Picketpost, and is open NFS land. I measure a 21.5 for the skies, and no light from Superior. This is open NFS land, thus OK for camping (or sleeping after observing). Are you going to be coming out to the Messier ?? I am here at the runway now, and will be here for the weekend. I can give you map info, and show you some pics.... Overall, an excellent site for east valley people... There is about 100-200 yards of "interesting" road but not "bad".... The rest is really nice. David M. It is at about 4,000' as I recall and should be usable from here on through summer. The mountains block the core of the Phoenix light dome much better than at Antennas. It is a fantastic place to view deep south--very dark. It also had some of the steadiest air I have encountered in Arizona when I set up atop a small hill just to the northeast of the exact EVAC site. The place is about a 20 minute drive east of Globe. >> >> >> Paul Knauth >> >> _ > -- > See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and > please send personal replies to the author, not the list. > Scott Tannehill scott@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
