Correct again - I do want to avoid changing the "workflow".

They were putting up with the joint names on 2 lines. We have
convinced them to continue with this - and we will see how much effort
is involved in changing the system that generates the CSV file (it's
an old system).

I tested the macrobutton approach, and I could pass information into
and run a VBA macro, which did the other half of the job (checking for
the &), but I couldn't automate it from the mail merge - I had to
click the "click me" button.

Thanks for the help - I think I needed to throw this out there to make
sure I wasn't missing anything obvious.
