Ok. I'll check that. I have made some progress, though. I tried simply adding new modes to the LCD pandaland MDF, scaling the pixelrate down by various amounts. And leaving all the front/back porch values alone. I found that 55Hz still gave 'red dots'. But 50Hz seems to work fine, so I'm currently using that as the default. 48Hz just about worked. Gives a good image, but the screen vanished every now and then for a few seconds. I think that 48Hz is a tad too low for the monitor. Lower frame rates give a blank screen and monitor error message about the signal being out-of-range. So for now I'll stick with my bodged 50Hz HD mode. Looks OK. Overall, the behaviour seems to be that the monitor is quite picky. I find this curious for a digital input device. Should either lock on and work or refuse with an 'out-of-range' type error. > Just make sure you have !CPUTmpMon always running. I'll use that for a while with the fan connected to get a feeling for the typical temperatures with the fan. Then see how much it may alter when the fan is disconnected. The way our weather is these days I probably won't have to worry much about a 'hot summer'. For that I'd probably have to move to Australia! :-) I have a couple of articles to write, so my next step is to transfer my commonly-used fonts and begin using TW/ArtWorks/Tau/etc in ernest to seen if anything objects. I'm also trying out my favourite general editor - DeskEdit4 - which I hope will be OK. Zap and StrongEd have always been too fancy for me...
