Thanks for all that information Graeme. It's fascinating to get an 
insight into how all the different components fit together.

So in the meantime, I need colord installed for other things… like being 
able to print in Firefox. So is there a way to force argyllcms/dispwin 
to ignore my colord installation? If not, I'll just wait for the next 
release.
