Dear all, I too have been adapting to the new actifeed feature on my 2004 Amayas. I had a Field Tech give me a little tip. He discovered in his shop, on the older machines if you have some trouble with actifeed, with the machine stopped, gently twill the thread sensor. This is only in addition to all the other great info we've been given over the past few weeks. It seemed to work for me. cr Cheryl Rotter Team Sports Ink 5111 Grumann Dr. Ste #1B Carson City, NV 89706 775-884-3550 -----Original Message----- From: amayausers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:amayausers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jeff Banks Sent: Thursday, February 09, 2006 9:47 AM To: amayausers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [amayausers] Re: Questions about auto acti-feed Jimbo, Does it work correctly on a flat good? I think all of you are going to find different results with Autoactifeed depending on what you are sewing, and the designs, what backing, etc. etc. It may not work for everything you do. An older machine may adjust a little differently than a new machine. But, it should not go to a 2 and stay there either. If you have a marginal thread break sensor, there will be problems as well. We have seen sensors that work fine when detecting thread or bobbin breaks, but are not sensitive enough for Auto Actifeed. Usually though, you will see problems on both flats and caps. If the problems are on caps only, try looking at the cap driver adjustments and insure it is adjusted to the proper height for your machine. Also, the pressure foot can cause problems if it is down too far. The older machines it is best to have it up out of the way and the newer XT's the pressure foot is adjusted to the cap as you would do for a garment. I have heard so much hype about it that I just couldn't wait to get it and see this for myself. I am haveing a little trouble though. I loaded the new CSA/RSA file that Jeff Banks made available a few weeks back and it did seem to help a bit but the question I have is: Is there any specific way to set up the machine so that it gives the proper feed back to the program for the MT adjustment? I was sewing hats and the MT was running at 2. It did not change even as it went over the seam of the hat. The quality of the sewing was not good at all. I eventually set the program back to standard and a MT of 10 to sew these particular hats and things looked a lot better. I am sure it is probally something that we are doing wrong, especially since I have read about so many of you out there really thinking this is a great improvement. Thanks for any imput that might help. Jimbo Childs Impressing Promotions, LLC 2575 Campus Dr., Ste. 341 Klamath Falls, OR 97601 Cell: 541-891-5748 Fax: 541-273-5798
