The first thing I tried with the acti feed was hats....unstructured canvas hats with a seam...the worst things usually. I had no trouble with them-ran better than anything before! (hear that, Jeff? something worked for me!)
I was amazed at the settings-ran from 4 up to 20+ on the seam. I also ran some testing on the clamp frame, did the same as Herb, slide in extra backing to try and screw it up. Ran fine!
Yet this week I ran a logo on nylon jackets-and used a fill pattern for lettering that arced up and down to fill an oval. Had horrible top and bottom edges on the lettering-as though I had increased pull comp or something vertical. Checked it-pull comp was zero.
Logo was fine-3 color flames over the oval, double underlayment, fill patterns for flames-so some of it was 5-6 layers of thread and the machine just breezed through it at 1300 spm. Even on the hats I pushed it-kept inching up the speed until I hit 1100 on the hats.
I still don't know if the new CSA files got loaded correctly-havent' had a minute to check. But everything else I've run through, fleece blanket, jackets, samples of different materials to proof the layout...ran fine! Did a run of 24 flexfit hats-even did the backs using a 4" hoop-no problems.
Today we setup to run the 'flame' logo on a dozen hats....I'll watch close and see what happens.
Roland
