Felt is VERY multi directionally stable - 2 pieces even more so.
Would you try an experiment? 

Trut one of the structured caps w nothing and then try one with a 2.5 oz or 3 
oz cap tearaway 
You should see a little better definition or extra crispnes esp on lettering - 
w the tearaway
If you want we will gladly send samples of a dense 2.5 oz tearaway for those 
tests.
