Hi Jeff,

Thank you for the advice and that was how it was set up. How then do I =
transfer the digitised software to the other running the machines ? Do =
we use the network to transfer or use diskettes ??? Then when we get the =
computer running the machines to accept the designs and tried to run it =
it would not go until we remove the dongle from the digitising machine =
and fix it to the computer running the machines. On the computer running =
the Amayas i have an USB dongle and what is that for ? I know that =
evnetually I need to get someone in to review the whole set up with me =
and get it up and running smoothly again. But in the meantime I wanted =
to take time to undertsand what I have. Your advice will be good for me =
and i thank you for that.=20

Thank you

Hi Bebe,

 I recommend to put Amaya Software in one computer, and Design Shop in=20
another. This is so the Amaya computer is left free to control the=20
machine(s) without other programs running that may interfere. You can =
load=20
both on the same computer, and you can run both at the same time, but if =
you=20
are going to get into digitizing with scanning, using graphics programs =
such=20
as Corel Draw etc. then doing all of that at one time is just asking for =

trouble. Graphics programs in general are very computer resource hungry, =
and=20
it is just asking TOO MUCH of one computer and expect reliable operation =
all=20
the time. Now add things like the Internet, your book keeping stuff, =
etc.=20
etc. and it can get very ugly trying to do it all in one computer!

 It is best to put the Amaya software in one computer, and the =
Digitizing=20
Software in another. Use the Digitizing Computer for the Internet, the =
book=20
keeping software, the graphics programs and what ever else you may find=20
useful, and then network them together. When networking them together, =
use 2=20
network PCB's in the Amaya Computer. One Network connection for the =
Amaya=20
machine(s), and the second network connection to connect it to the=20
digitizing computer. This way the network traffic and control needed for =
the=20
machine(s) is kept separate from the network stuff needed for the 2=20
computers to work together. This insures one is not able to interfere =
with=20
the other and produces much more reliable operation.

Sincerely,
 Jeff Banks
