You could also map a network drive... To make the folder easier to find.

HI Iris,

Even with a second Design Shop Dongle, it still would not be possible to
have the Design Shop Program run from the Laptop when pressing the Design
Shop Icon in Amaya OS from the Main Computer. Currently the Design Shop Edit
Icon in the Amaya Software is designed or programmed to call the Design Shop
program when it is loaded into the Local computer. This is not to say that
it might be able to be done with the proper programming etc., but to do so
would open a great big issue with security on networks and also safety
issues with the operation of loading the design back to the Amaya machine
from a remote computer.

Currently the best way to accomplish this is to use a common folder, either
on the Laptop or the Amaya Main Computer, and if the design the that the
Amaya is sewing needs editing, open it in Design Shop at the Laptop, edit
it, save it to the common folder, then go to the Main Computer and press the
Load Design Button and load into the Amaya machine. If you look at it
closely, it is pressing a couple more buttons in the computers, and just a
little more clumsy but works very well. I use Design Shop in a separate
computer here at Melco. I find it actually better in the aspect that I can
be editing a version of the same design the Amaya is sewing while it is
sewing. Then reload the new version at the next run. Using the buttons to
call DS from Amaya and edit the design, the machine sits idle while you are
editing the design. My suggestion is to make the shared folder one in the
Amaya Main Computer as the Laptop may not always be the DS computer?

 Sincerely,
 Jeff Banks
