Or at least cracked. Quick fix, see if you can't push back the part of the gear that's sticking out of it's alignment. It may snap back to where it's supposed to be. If you are unsuccessful at this, then the only thing left is the correct repair which is to replace the broken gear. This is easily done by a tech who has been trained on this sort of thing but if you attempt it yourself, be warned that if everything is not done as it should be, you may wind up with more problems on your hands. The part number for the thread feeder gear is 30617. You will want to unscrew the shaft of the gear to get the gear out. Then you remove the gear from the shaft by removing the retaining clip and installing the new one gear being sure to reinstall the retaining clip. If any of this seems rather tricky, I recommend you consult with a tech. Some folks will have a difficult time with this if you don't have the right tools. Melco's Tech support will be able to spend more time with you on this subject over the phone if necessary. 877-840-5829 Best of luck to you, Ed =========================================================== The AmayaUsers Mailing List Website: http://www.amayausers.com Discussion Board: http://www.amayausers.com/boards Subscribe/Unsubscribe: http://www.amayausers.com/list ===========================================================
