Dear "Deperate Marie",
Your problem is most probably a result of one of three things.
1) Red rollers are not lubricated
2) Thread is tangled in any of the thread feed drive gears
3) Mechanical problem with the thread feed drive gear.
You can quickly check for smooth rotation of the red roller by holding down the
"Laser" button on the keypad and then pressing the "Arrow Up" button at the
same time once. You will find the machine will rotate the rollers, inline to
sew, a little bit. You can hit this key combination as many times as you like
to verify the rollers are turning smoothly and without hesitation.
If you find you do have an issue, you will have to dig deeper to investigate
such as removing covers or the rollers themselves.
It has been my experience that 75% of Amaya operators (give or take) do not
lubricate their red pinch rollers nearly enough.
