Keith,

Maybe I've missed this in your posts but, before you go ahead and upgrade,
check your computer can take XP and that the hardware you're using is
compatible.

I'm not sure where the download is now, but Microsoft do have a test to show
you which hardware is compable from your system.  You'd do well to do some
checking.

I upgraded without sufficient checking and, although my previous computer
worked fine, it was working to its maximum the whole time and eventually
ground to a halt.

Oh, John is right, you can purchase an upgrade because you've been running
Windows SE.
