Yeah, I would, and try the airing cupboard to ensure it's dry. -- Carol carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Be friends with me on Facebook (Not using Twitter these days ...) ---- Original Message ---- From: "Barry Hill" <bbinc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, October 14, 2010 9:56 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Victor Reader Stream down thetoilet
That's very assuring, David, and great advice. I'll leave the Stream well alone until tomorrow. No I did not throw it down the toilet deliberately but must have been distracted! Anyway the radio eventually fully recovered. I also recovered a digital hearing aid which went in a pocket in the washingmachine . I find that you need to wait 48hours and would notrecommend trying to use the device until then. Presumably if there is water or dampness in the device a prematureattempt to restart it may short something.Regards David Griffith -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Barry Hill Sent: Wednesday, 13 October 2010 14:50 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Victor Reader Stream down the toilet Hi all I've just dropped my Stream down the toilet while it was playing (Stop laughing). If you must know, I had the stream in a top pocket and was adjusting the fittings onthe seat so, thankfully, it was a clean toilet.I took the back off the Stream and the battery out then laid all on a towel in the airing cupboard to dry. Has anyone else successfully dried out their Stream and gotit working properly again after a dunking? As a boy-scout precaution, if it is defunct, I'd like suggestions for a replacement. Isn't there a player that's smaller and has an FM radio built in? Wonder whatmy insurance is like.Cheers Barry ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-followinglink:- **[mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, clickon the ** immediately-following link:-** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 5528 (20101013) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 5528 (20101013) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 5529 (20101013) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 5529 (20101013) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-followinglink:- **[mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, clickon the ** immediately-following link:-** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-followinglink:- **[mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, clickon the ** immediately-following link:-** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
