Damon,

Could you imagine the support and replacement costs for blinkys using hard drive based players?

A drop her, a push off the table there and the gears go, or the platters stick or...

I like hard drive for mass storage it is true but the future's moving towards remote storage and people want light weight players which means flash based memory, soon it'll be hologram based memory.

Yeah sure you can get small hard drives but they're still weighty compaired to the flash memory.

I'm not sure if these are the things they are thinking about in their R and D but it would make sense, if annoy people like ourselves who prefer 40gig over 4gig.

But what ya gonna do?

But why are battery issues seen as more of a hassle for blind tech consumers? I'd have expected to see a hard drive version by now.

What do people care about most here? Battery life or size of memory? Interested in any responses. Hey someone should set up a vote somewhere on a voting mechanism site. Ian, In Touch should have a regular vote on its site I reckon. Easily done. Well relatively easily done.

 I think it's a battery issue Damon.

why do accessible devices insist on using small capacity memory cards
instead of a 40 gig thumnail sized hard disk drive as in iPods?
