Thanks. That clarifies everything. I would still like to hear the
synthetic speech before deciding, but I am greatly tempted by the thought of
a very small daisy player.

David, the cards used by the Stream are the smaller Secure Digital cards
such as are used by the Pure Bug and other DAB radios which can record.
These are different from the compact Flash cards used by the Courier. My
belief and understanding is that the Stream can cope with the large capacity
cards which I think now go up to 8 GB. The largest SD cards I have are 2
GB.

Okay, so how big a memory card can the Stream deal with? Are the cards the
same as I use on the Courier? I always get confused about types of cards.

Roger, the Stream is only being sold with an SD card as an optional extra,
the rationale being, according to my source, to keep the price as low as
possible and allow people to make their own choices about size of card,
price etc. So the Canadian/US price is directly compatible with the UK one.

I've just looked on Google and it's quoted at 2.01189 dollars to the pound
sterling. Taking nice simple easy figures and call it 2 dollars to the pound
the US machine would cost £160 to purchase. But the shipping would add to
that but I understand the US machine includes a SD card. This makes the UK
machine unacceptably high which means, once again, we're being ripped off.

Roger

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
