It appears to use what is on the server.

Hi, I don't know the answer to whether SATOGO has Braille support, but
I've a feeling if it hasn't it, or the Key should have before long as
I believe it was on the list of improvements to System Access. Maybe
Steve Nutt can be more definite.

It is very early days as yet, but I'd have thought you might get to
choose which speech engine the program uses, but this is one thing I'm
very unsure about. Does this net based speech access program use
speech synthesis located on the server? Or, how much does it rely on,
say, SAPPI, or what's on the host machine? I simply don't know the
answer to this.

Damon, obviously you missed the first announcement of this net based
program when, Brian Hartgen I think, mentioned it here last week.

At the moment it is a trial, and they haven't decided how much it'll
cost to use it, but obviously it will be subscription based
eventually.

I would think this is the old Serotek System Access but web based
rather
than using the USB key to Freedom. Woopse!

The Main Menu feature on this did point out somewhere that you
should
unload your screen reader before running SA to go.

By the way, strictly speaking SA to go isn't a screen reader as
such,
there's no off-screen model or anything involved.

I think it should be very liberating - and let's hope no one claims
'liberation' as a trade mark - as you can have speech access to a PC
wherever there's an internet connection, which I'd think almost
certainly would have to be a broadband connection. definitely one
for
the masses, as opposed to the working minority.

Cheers,

Am surprised no one is talking about this. It's fantastic!
http://www.satogo.com/
A web-based screenreader . it doesn't just make a web page talk . it
gives intelligent access to your PC like what JAWS does.
If you subscribe to it, you can just logon to it from any computer
anywhere. Portability galore!
