I am not sure how accurate this is. If I go into Notepad and type -3 (a3 immediately preceded by a dash), JAWS 11 reads this as minus 3. Indeed, in typing this message, the same thing happens. If there is a space between the dash and the number, it is read as - 3. I find it hard to believe that this behaviour would not be replicated on an online page. Does the Lloyds page actually have a dash immediately preceding a number? If there is a space, would Window-Eyes or any other screenreader handle the situation differently?

Hi Damon, Thank you for your message. Like yourself, I am a Lloyds customer, (and sometimes use online banking), so I will certainly be making Lloyds bank aware of the confusion they are causing to Jaws users. However, in view of Steve Nutt's comment that the Lloyds bank change in layout does not cause problems for window-eyes users, I will also be contacting my Jaws supplier's support team to make them aware that Jaws is unable to correctly interpret the - as a minus sign when it precedes figures in a balance when displayed online.
