Hi Iain, Just tried it. With a space, Window-Eyes says just 300, without, it says Negative. So even Window-Eyes would get tripped up if there is a space, but there is no space on Lloyds. All the best Steve -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Iain Lackie Sent: Friday 15 October 2010 11:09 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Lloyds banking: beware you could be in the red jaws users I am not sure how accurate this is. If I go into Notepad and type -3 (a3 immediately preceded by a dash), JAWS 11 reads this as minus 3. Indeed, in typing this message, the same thing happens. If there is a space between the dash and the number, it is read as - 3. I find it hard to believe that this behaviour would not be replicated on an online page. Does the Lloyds page actually have a dash immediately preceding a number? If there is a space, would Window-Eyes or any other screenreader handle the situation differently?
