Trying to figure out what to fix on my wife's PC. I don't know what the motherboard is (can't find the manuals), but it is a "My Favorite PC," one of those eMachine-type computers that were free after all the rebates a couple of years ago. It has a Celeron 433, IIRC, and the mobo has a built-in graphics card. A while ago it froze while it was on, and we powered down and started up again. I gave one long and three short beeps during POST, and shut down, at least it stopped POST and the fan on the CPU shut off. It eventually started up again and had this problem intermittently for a week or two, now it won't restart at all. Does the same beep sequence, shuts off the CPU fan, and that's it. I switched the memory dimms in all possible combinations and that did not help. Any bright ideas? TIA Matt ~*~*~*~*~ Was this forwarded to you? Want to subscribe?
