Mary Beth I think that you have done a great job in organizing the potlucks.
They are, when our family is able to come, something that we enjoy very
much. I was going to suggest that people rsvp to the host house 24 hrs in
advance so that the host would know the number of people attending. Also it
might be nice if one could inform the host what they are planning to bring
so that they could make sure that we are not overloaded with one type of
food.

Concerning the monthly Shabbat potlucks, the Steering Committee has decided
to move them to the second Friday of the month at least through August to
avoid the situation of the potluck and the service at Rockford being on the
same weekend. The potluck in May will take place on Friday, May 10, 6:00
p.m. at the home of Daniele Norman and David Seitz, 616 Xenia Ave. Until
then any questions concerning the potlucks can be directed to me. However,
after almost five years of being the coordinator, I am going to retire.
Someone will need to be willing to take on this role in order for the
potlucks to continue. It's not a huge task. Basically it requires finding a
willing host for each month, putting a notice in the Yellow Springs paper
and relaying the information to the person responsible for putting the
calendar of events on the list serve (presently Suzanne). I personally have
really enjoyed the potlucks and feel they have been a wonderful social
element of our Havurah. I believe that for several Havurah members who are
now active participants, the Shabbat potluck was their first connection to
the Yellow Springs Jewish community. Also, the food has been great! Mary
Beth
