Psssttt!
Just don't *anyone* tell him we're having fun :)

Me too actually :-).

Incidentally there's been a minor thread running in jack-devel with
someone trying to convince the jack devs that jack should be modified
to solve the jack midi timing issues in zynaddsubfx.

Interesting :)

Oh dear, I seem to have actually tried pre8. Must have missed your
message :)

No Will, it was your report that triggered the "Abandon ship!" call.
This has popped up in interesting point that I later found was common
with pre7. The only segfaults I'm now seeing are when loading voices.
However when loading complete parameter sets there is no problem.

I wonder if we're seeing several only partially connected faults?

I do believe this is the case. What really puzzles me is how system specific
it seems to be. My system is nothing out of the ordinary, so this aspect is
seriously weird.

In most respects there seem to be lots of benefits, and I know from
electronics hardware design you often get the most irritating and
obscure faults when you are actually quite close to success.

Yep. Another little thread of hope I'm clinging to is that often the most
catostrophic failures can be attributed to a seemingly simple fault -
seemingly "simple" when you eventually find the fault of course.

cheers.
