An update on this.
At Sonoj, on the free 5min slot, I briefly showed off Yoshimi running headless
in the PI. The only minor problem was connecting to an unknown MIDI keyboard.
This lead me to think that maybe we need a 'promiscuous' mode for ALSA so that
it will scan for, and connect to any MIDI source it can find. This would be
particularly relevant to a stand-alone module. Would anyone be interested in
taking a look at that? Once again, I seem to be snowed under with stuff :(
Speaking of which, I now have a PI 4, and this works extremely well. I can run a
9 part demo piece without the slightest difficulty - that's including loading
instruments, controlled by MIDI CCs.
I'm actually building up a Yoshimi Pi for one guy now. Of course, when I agreed
to do this I'd forgotten that I no longer have access to any machine tools
{DOH!}
Oh well, hopefully he'll be happy with it.
Mixed with all of this, I've still got some CLI work to do with 'bank' commands.
