I like the idea of this very much :)

Already last year where the conference was in EU I had an idea about 
doing a workshop about "music for the moving image" on Linux based on my 
sound track experience which as you know heavily used yoshimi (including 
a custom launch script, effective use of jack sessions, interaction with 
both Rosegarden and Ardour, etc.).

If it was at all possible this would be great.

Both of these ideas are real-world examples so I think they'd get a lot of
interest.

I might try and attend anyway as 
audience, and in that case it would be fun to maybe set-up a yoshimi 
jam-session with other linux music geeks :)
