Dear YESSers, it is a pleasure to greet you and hope you are well and
healthy.
This year is a year with many challenges for our network, personally,
academically and professionally.
In this scenario, we have seen that online tools are essential for the
continuation of educational and research processes around the world.
Therefore, as a first step, we would like to compile an overview of all
online resources known to us in the YESS community. In the next few days,
we will set up a google sheet where you can enter all online resources you
know about ecosystem services. We think this is necessary, especially since
in regions like Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean there is a
shortage of training opportunities in the field of ecosystem services (both
face-to-face and online) and because the topic was brought up by you.

We would also like to share some good news with you. YESS will participate
in the two regional ESP conferences that will be held this year. With a
dedicated session in North America (ACES)
<https://conference.ifas.ufl.edu/aces/>, "Engaging Scholars in Future
Ecosystem Services Research", and a workshop in Latin America and the
Caribbean (ESP-LAC) <https://www.esplatinamerica2020.org/> entitled
"Experiences from Latin America and the Caribbean" (focus on beginners). At
ESP-LAC, an agreement was reached with the organizing committee to reserve
places for young researchers in each of the various sessions. This
conference will be held in an online format. Therefore, we cordially invite
you to participate in these conferences so that you can share your
experiences and knowledge and get to know the research of other colleagues.
Please do not hesitate to contact us so that you can comment on your
concerns and ideas. They all help us to strengthen and improve our
community.
