Dear all,
We are overwhelmed with the response we have received to the invitation. We are
still processing the emails to decide our further course of action steps and
hence, would like to now close the invitation. In case you strongly feel that
you would like to contribute to this project and found yourself late to the
party, we are still happy to hear from you but no later than May 20.
We will very soon get back to everyone who responded to us. Thank you so much!
Kind regards,
Tanvi, Vaishali and Sakshi

Subject: [yess] Invitation to collaborate on a potential systematic literature
review paper on ecosystem services mapping
Dear all,
We are researchers working at the Wildlife Institute of India and reaching out
to the YESS community to extend an invitation for collaborators. We three are
working on a systematic literature review on mapping of ecosystem services
through which we are attempting to answer a few questions like:
• How ESs are being mapped all over the world? What are the methodologies
being used? What tools and techniques are being used for data collection and
analysis for mapping? How has it changed between the selected time period
(early stages of the ES until now)?
• What is the trend of past studies in mapping? How India/Indian
subcontinent/South Asia (this scale can be negotiated) fares in comparison to
the world?
• What are the current limitations and gaps in the mapping of ES and the
way forward?
We have already done a preliminary run on Web of Science for literature related
to mapping of ecosystem services, sorted out relevant literature and have a
broad structure defined for the manuscript. At this point in time, we are
seeking collaborators who can guide us with systematic literature review (or
are enthusiastic about figuring it out together), refine the methodology,
contribute to the analysis and writing of the manuscript.
Looking at the enthusiasm shown by fellow YESSers for collaboration in the
recent community forum, we felt YESS would be one of the best places to look
for collaborators. If you are someone with similar interests and would like to
know more about the idea, we are happy to discuss it in detail. Also, feel free
to drop us any queries that may help you decide.
Take care!
Warm regards,
Tanvi, Vaishali and Sakshi
