Communications Intern *Internship Summary* We are looking for an energetic, self-directed, and organized Communications Intern. Working closely with the Associate Director for Communications and the Online Organizing & Outreach Coordinator, the person in this position will assist in implementation and planning to support Advocates for Youth’s communications strategy during Spring Semester 2014. Through purposeful, authentic, and meaningful projects and tasks, the Communications Intern will gain essential skills in traditional and digital media and deepen understanding of strategic growth functions in the non-profit sector. The Communications Intern duties may include, but aren’t limited to: media monitoring, social media engagement, making pitch calls to media, database management, research, and proofreading and editing work. Administrative duties include preparing marketing and media packets, copying, distributing materials, and other office duties. This internship is open to college students, recent graduates, and graduate students. Women, minorities, and people from other underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply. This is a part-time, paid internship with flexible hours (average 20 hours per week, working 3 days a week, plus event days).
