Public forum next Tuesday on passenger rail in Greater Portland. One of the
discussion topics is the possibility of a "rail shuttle" between Portland
and Westbrook, presumably using the RR line through Rock Row.

Looks like an opportunity for cyclists to lobby for longer platforms at
southern Maine rail stations so cycles can be off and on loaded at every
stop. Could attract more commuters to use cycle + train if the train could
take cycles.

house being hosted by GPCOG and Northern New England Passenger Rail
Authority (NNEPRA) on Tuesday, October 22 from 4:30-6:30pm at Merrill
Rehearsal Hall in Portland. We want to learn more about travel patterns
and preferences of people who live and/or work in Greater Portland, get
feedback about potential service improvements and changes being considered
for the Amtrak Downeaster between Brunswick and Boston, and share some
ideas about expanded passenger rail service in the Greater Portland region.
