I don't know. One of those 3 articles mentions alternate technology
available only on some high-end cars in the US that sound like what you're
talking about, implying that it might have been developed *because *the EU
adaptive beam technology was not allowed yet in the US.

John,   Does this combination of LED Lights, Cameras that focuses on the
darker shoulders of the Road at Night the same as the Volvo TV Commercial I
saw that actually rotates the Headlight to follow the Left curving or Right
curving shoulder of the Road ?

Hmm Interesting John !

I recall seeing a TV Commercial by
VOLVO, I think, showing a Man, Swedish or Norwegian,  driving up there at
Night, on a paved highway along a long curve,  and suddenly his Adaptive
Headlights see a REINDEER about to step in front of him onto the Road. He
slows down avoiding striking the Reindeer...

I was blown away when renting a non-luxury car in Scotland in 2017 that
this headlight technology was not already available in the US (only to
discover that the US transportation bureaucracy basically blocked it for
years).
