I've mentioned this several times in meetings, so here is an official
invitation. I'll be teaching my CyclingSavvy <http://CyclingSavvy.org>
course next weekend, Friday night 9/8 and Saturday 9/9. Even if you're not
a regular bicyclist, as a member of this committee you might benefit from
the classroom session, "Truths & Techniques of Traffic Riding". No bike is
required for this, and the Portland venue (Portland Gear Hub
<https://www.facebook.com/gearhubbikeschool/>) is handicapped accessible.
We talk about laws regarding bicycles, common crash causes and avoidance,
and other ways to minimize the stress of bicycling in traffic. These are
all helpful things you can tell your bicycling friends about!
There are two other on-bike sessions for people who bicycle more, a skills
class, and a group ride around Portland. The sessions are $45 each, or $95
for the entire package. If $45 is a lot for you, I'm willing to subsidize
up to half.
