In the 20-some years I was photographing birds before the onset of digital photography, I took perhaps 50,000 photographs. Over the years of culling them down, I got it down to maybe 20,000, but I want to do even better than that. I'm trying to scan all my old photos, storing them all on discs, and posting those photos that I want to on my flickr site, even though some of them aren't all that good. It's kind of my motivation in 2010 to try and get better photos of those that are lacking. But I also decided to post some of my rare bird photos too, some of which have never been seen by anyone other than myself before, and I've put them in a seperate file on flickr. As I sort my files, the list will grow, but I thought some might be interested to see some of the birds that have shown up in the last few decades since I got my first camera in about 1980 or so. It might bring back some memories for some of the "old timers". It's taken me about 3 years to figure out how to scan properly, so over the next few months I should add a number of other photos as well.
