Let's also be aware that there are people on this list that are beginners
or simply don't have the state list of endangered species memorized. I
thought another purpose of this list serv was to educate.

Usually best to try me first, as Tom travels much more than I do.
Common sense should apply in some situations. Personally, I don't have a
problem with folks mentioning that they were at the Visitor's Center or on
the observation tower at Necedah NWR and saw a Whooping Crane a half-mile
away on the north side of the flowage. That's a closed area anyway, so
it's not as though someone is going to be able to try to get closer for
better photos (at least unless they want to risk the high probability of a
very steep fine and other sanctions from the feds...)
