We are visiting from Iowa and came to bird Horicon Marsh and bike. The weather is hampering that so we spent the day cheese shop hopping. As we were driving between shops south of Reeseville I spotted 4 Sandhills in a field and we stopped to look. As we started to drive on I looked on the other side of the road and saw a large flock of 60 Sandhills and one white dot. We stopped quickly and I grabbed the binoculars and camera, rolled the window down six inches only to have rain blowing in across the car. I got some good looks and decent pictures despite the rain. My first Whooping Crane and a very pleasant surprise! So Dodge Co. keep your eyes out for large flocks of Sandhills with a white one thrown in. Happy Birding!
