[wisb] White-winged Crossbills, Portage County

Hello all,
I was pleasantly surprised in this winter of few finches to find a flock of 
about 24 White-winged Crossbills feeding on tamarack cones in Long Road Bog in 
northwestern Portage County. There was also a small group of 7 Purple Finches 
feeding on tamaracks cones as well.  Other local birds of note include 6 Bald 
Eagles below the Dubay dam and a lone male Hooded Merganser hanging out with 
the Common Mergansers below the New Page dam in Stevens Point.
