This is the weekly Sherman School Nature Explorer kids walk in Wild Warner Park led by UW Madison grad students and assisted by Madison Audubon Bird Mentors. For todays nature activity the students collected interesting specimens of plants, bark, lichens etc to create a valentine in the snow by the Warner Oak. The birding highlight was an active flock of Cedar Waxwings near the upper prairie old apple orchard that most students were able to observe and help count. Although it was in general a quiet birding day several other species were also noted below, plus enjoying a 'bird snowman' that a couple kids put together. 1 Canada Goose 3 Mourning Dove 1 Downy Woodpecker 13 Cedar Waxwing 2 Northern Cardinal This report was created and sent using BirdsEye BirdLog - Paul Noeldner, Madison Audubon #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
