Hi all,
We have been blessed to have 10 Trumpeter Swans hanging out on Rainbow Pond for
the last week. I suspect they are preparing to migrate for the winter, though
as I understand it, they only migrate to the closest open water for the winter,
some going only so far as open water near the Hudson I-94 bridge over the St.
Croix River. I suspect they may hang out here until the water starts to ice up.
They are, needless to say, making a delightful cacophony of slightly
out-of-tune trumpet sounds throughout the day.
Best birding to all.
