Just had to get out and hike yesterday in the balmy weather. Heading for
the Scuppernong Prairie first in hopes of finding Sandhill Cranes, found
little activity. No Sandhills, but there was a lone Horned Lark, a
flock of Am. Robins and a Rough-legged Hawk. The birds appeared to be
more around the lakes and marshes in extreme southern Waukesha County.
Here are the species observed:

Sandhill Cranes (lake/marsh areas)
Redheads
Gadwalls
Killdeer
Lesser Scaup
Eastern Phoebe
Red-winged Blackbirds
Great Blue Herons
Brown Creeper
Hooded Merganser
Common Mergansers
Common Goldeneyes
Northern Saw-whet Owl
Hermit Thrush

Too bad the great weather didn't last.
