The signs of springs are all around. Yesterday took a drive down to Bong to look for Short Eared Owls. On the way down we saw many signs of spring. For example in Oregon there was a Turkey Vulture that flew right over our car. Also down in Janesville we saw a large flock of Lapland Longspurs and when I got them in the binoculars I could see they were running around in pairs and some of the males were starting to get there breeding plumage. Even though we didn't see any short eared owls it was a very productive day we saw at least twenty Rough Legged Hawks and about the same amount of Northern Harriers.
