I forgot to post a reminder that gun deer season starts tomorrow (Sat. 11/21.)

Note that many parks and refuges are at least partially open to deer hunting,
so pay attention to that section if you plan to be out and about in the next
nine days. It's also a good idea to check websites of specific parks and
refuges to see if there are hunting-related closures. For example, the Auto
Loop at Horicon NWR is closed for the duration of the season. One change is
that there will be no "holiday hunt" this year, so that won't impact CBCs as it
occasionally did in previous years.
As always, wear bright-colored clothing, be alert, and stay safe!
