It was still present as of 3:00 P.M. It took me two passes from the Wind Point Lighthouse to Shoop Park and back to find it. This afternoon it was in the rocky area just northeast of Shoop Park. If you walked behind the willows you would miss it. It was feeding in puddles among the rocks and was not easy to see. As it turned out, I would have almost stepped on it if I wasn't looking for it. Apparently the exceptionally warm weather was producing many flies in the puddles and it was feeding on these. Before today, I can't remember ever seeing a Red Phalarope walking on land, but it did as it moved from puddle to puddle. As a bonus, a couple was able to see it as a life bird. Extra special day for them. Thanks to Rick for finding it, Jenny for posting it, and the many observers who kept the updates coming. Thomas C.
