15-20 Red Crossbills were continuing this morning in the northwest section of Forest Beach Migratory Preserve. Just north of Harrington Beach State Park, looking north from CTH D, among the Ring-billed Gulls on the beach was a solitary Whimbrel. Don't expect to see it though; unfortunately, it was gone when I left at 2:30 P.M. There are algae mats south of the point at Harrington Beach which will probably attract some shorebirds from time to time, as long as they remain. Today I saw only Least, Semipalmated, Baird's, and Spotted Sandpipers there.
