Just got an email from Steve Mullen - he and his dad just got back to
Montello from a successful trip to look for the Pacific Loon on Lake
Monona in Madison. Steve says it was a mere 150 yds. straight out from
the Olin-Turville boat launch on the west side of the lake (note that to
get to the boat launch, you have to come in from the north now - take
Lakeside St. off John Nolen Drive. The south access road is blocked
off.) Steve also said the Ross's Goose was gone from Harvey/Wangsness
ponds in Columbia County, but there was now a Snow Goose on the west
side of Harvey there. They did not find the Eared Grebe at Schoeneberg
Marsh.
